Fiji
Fiji, a country in the South Pacific is made up of 333 tropical islands. Beqa island is a remote island off of southern Viti Levu (Fiji's largest island). Scuba divers know it well because it is home to the Fiji Shark Dive (Shark Reef Marine Reserve) which is always brimming with bull sharks. Traditional firewalking ceremonies (often featured in National Geographic) can be experienced by visiting Lalati Village.
The Northern most part of Viti Levu takes travelers to Rakiraki. Rakiraki is well known for scuba diving, and the famous Bligh Waters. Cyclone Winston directly hit this area in Feb 2016. The resorts are up and running again, and the reefs and marine life are healthy and happy. However, the nearby villages and schools are still rebuilding. Locals rely on tourism and every visit to this area helps.
The moon photographs are from the supermoon captured from the shores of Beqa island on Nov 14. According to NASA, it was the "closest full moon to Earth since 1948. We won’t see another supermoon like this until 2034."
